So being a bachellor, and living alone, I observe certain rituals that most sane people don’t Now that the Super Bowl teams have been decided, the first of several “emergency cleaning” seasons have begun. Since I have a Super Bowl party every year, I have between now and kickoff to clean up my place. I have a lot to do Plus, since my place is bigger than last year (still lovin’ condo livin’!) I have even more to do.

So it’s two weeks of throwing stuff out, scrubbing and dusting. I have just enough time.

I guess I can drop the “Ain’t Got a Home” blog category now that I’ve had a home for two months now. I’ve got to say, I love living in my old stomping grounds again. One of the best reasons is, as they say, location, location, location. My condo complex is high on a hill, far recessed from the main road, so it seems like I don’t really live here, but more like living in the woods. My brother calls the place middle earth, and he’s right! What can I say? I’m fairly happy with where I live now. Who’d have thunk it?
I find myself feeling calmer too. That may be because work is slowing down a bit for the summer months too. Either way, I’ll take it

One challenge is keeping the place clean. I still haven’t unpacked all my boxes yet, and it’s always a challenge just cleaning up after myself. Today I think I moved a foot or two forward. I put some things away, answered some correspondence and such. Now all I have to do is repeat that every day for a few months and the place will be good as new (read: as good as it was 2 months ago!)

My dad called today from my new condo. The heater’s busted. One quote is $2,600 to just replace the indoor parts, or $5,200 to fix the indoor and outdoor parts.

I wish to hell this was an April Fool’s post, but it’s not. Actually today is April 3rd. I’m still backdating my posts.

Ahh the joys of homeownership.

I bought a condo. I’m officially a homeowner. Actually, I’m a home OWE-er. But it was a good deal, and the condo is in a nice neighborhood. Closing yesterday was a pretty bumpy, but as the bard wrote, “All’s well that ends well”.

Moving out/in will take a few weekends, so I’ll try to keep everyone update on what’s going on with me. Stay tuned…

Well, it nearly official. I’ve almost bought on a condo. Offers been accepted, but we still need to iron out a few details first. I’ll post more as soon as I can.

…Ain’t got a home. And so begins a new category on the BoormanBlog: Searching for a house. My lease is up on 03/20, and I’m going ot try to buy a house in that time. To that end, I’ll be looking at 3 different houses in Manchester tomorrow (actually, make that today, guess where I was tonight!!!). Better hit the hay if I want to be coherent tomorrow!!
