8.5 Miles, 1 hour, 30 minutes, 45 seconds

Back to running again this morning. Took me a little longer to do 8.5 miles, but for having to wait for a traffic light for quite awhile, not to mention carrying some weight around, it’s not that bad. Looks like the new stretching exercise I added is working. No shooting pain in my hip, although I did have some discomfort.

After my running, I was tired, but not in pain. After a full day at work, I’m in a little more pain.

Tomorrow is a rest day. I’ve got my first long run in over a month on Saturday. My training scheduled calls for 18.5 miles, but I think that’s way too much for having just gotten back in the game.

Stay tuned and cool runnings. :)

    Hey Dude-
Just ran my first 3+ miles today. 3.30 miles in 35 minutes even. Burned 475 calories but felt like rat ass afterwards. It was a good rat ass feeling though. I was probably little more than meat with eyes towards the end and after my second wind had finished, but it was all worth it. One thing’s for certain: So long as I keep this momentum up, running that far in that amount of time will never feel that bad again.

Did I mention that I haven’t run since July 2005?

Day-yum!! 3.3 miles in 35 minutes! For the first time in 3 years?!? Man, you jumped to the head of the class!

It took me awhile to get up to a 10 minute mile. As you can see, it’s taking me awhile to get BACK to a 10 minute mile. Contratulations bro!!

Don’t worry about feeling like crap, that’s part of it. The pain will subside. Pain is just weakness leaving the body. :) Soon you’ll be running marathons!
