Another Run At a Perfect Season?

Well sports fans, it’s never too early to talk about next season! Heck, I was talking about next season in February! On or about the 3rd at about….oh….9:30. Between shots of tequilla. :(

At any rate, I don’t think the New England Patriots will go 16-0 again this season. True to form, the NFL is throwing every obstacle in their way, including an awful bye in week 4. Last year, the Pats had their bye in week 9, which is about as good as it can get. Better to rest when you’re tired and the finish line is in sight. Having a bye after only 4 weeks in a 16 week season is about as productive as not resting your starters when you already clinched home field ;)

Some key games that I will be paying special attention to this season.

08/28 Pre-season week 4 at Giants: No big secret why this game is important to me. I’d look for Belichik to throw this one. Save it for the regular season.

09/14 Week 2 at Jets: Division game. Jets will be stronger this season, but I’m looking for New England to win this one.

09/21 Week 3 vs. Miami: Miami can ONLY be stronger this season ;). Expect the Patriots to dominate.

10/12 Week 6 at San Diego: A road game against a strong team. This might be the Patriots’ first loss of the season.

10/20 week 7 vs. Denver: Broncos could give New England a run for their money, but the New England offense should pull it out.

11/02 Week 9 at Inianapolis: All I can say is that I hope New England wipes the floor with these guys.

11/09 Week 10 vs. Buffalo: With all due respect to the late Tim Russert, I’m looking for another New England win in this division game ;)

11/13 Week 11 vs. Jets: A short week for the Patriots, but at least it isn’t a road game. New England wins this division game also

11/23 Week 12 at Miami: Even on the road, I see New England winning this division game

11/30 Week 13 vs. Pittsburgh: My friends from Grove City College don’t need me to say anything else. Being the one Patriots fan in a sea of rabid Steelers/Browns fans still has left a bad taste in my mouth. Pittsburgh just seems to have perennial playoff potential, but I’m hoping New England can win.

12/28 Week 17 at Buffalo: New England, hopefully with a playoff berth under their belts, should at least clinch the division with a win here.

Of course, what do I know? I’m not a prognosticator, I’m not even a journalist. Just a die hard fan of the Red, White and Blue ;)

GO PATS!!
