4 Miles, 41 Minutes

I still can’t get over how well I did in the Iron Horse half marathon in Simsbury on Sunday, despite having three months less training, and carrying all this extra weight, I was only 6 1/2 minutes slower than my PR at last year’s Rock and Roll Half Marathon in Virginia Beach. Woo hoo! I’ve still got it!

Anyway, I decided to build on the momentum and try to get a little running in after work today. But before I even got one mile under my belt, my calves were killing me. I should have stopped, I’m in the “ask forgiveness instead of permission” camp when it comes to injury prevention ;)

I’m going to alter my routine a bit to include some hill work to build up my endurance. Stay tuned and run on folks!
