13.1 Miles, 2 Hours, 21 Minutes 5 Seconds
Not great, but not terrible either. I ran the whole race, which was kind of unexpected since the most I had run since October was 10 miles.
Somehow, the adrenaline just kicked in and did it’s job!
Woo hoo!
Actually, my time is pretty impressive! I just checked my results from last year’s Rock N’ Roll Half Marathon in Virginia Beach; you know the one that I trained like crazy for so I could beat my brother’s time from the previous year? My time then was 2 hours, 14 Minutes, 24 seconds. Took me only 6 1/2 minutes more this time. When you think about how I had a full 3 months less to train for this one, that’s pretty darn good!
The results are not that accurate, though. I didn’t pass one of those special mats at the starting line. Looks like the race used “gun time”. When the gun (there wasn’t a gun) goes off, that’s everybody’s start time, whether you’re at the starting line, or back behind several hundred people at the start line.
At any rate, I’m glad I was able to run the whole race. I would love to keep this momentum, maybe I’ll run the full marathon in October again? ![]()
