Even though I don’t know all words to this song, I seem to have plenty of opportunity to learn them. This %$#@ song is everywhere! I hate it.
Something about her toes
I think she mentions her nose
Is is just me who knows
this song really blows?

I like to think of it as 2008’s “I want to hold your hand.” Sorry, just a random shot at the Beatles

Ripping on my beloved Beatles……….Uncool. As far as this ridiculuos song goes, at least it’s not another Nora Jones. I seem to remember there being a craze over her in 2004, and I failed to see why. I personally think that a bottle of and a prescription for Zoloft should have come with every Nora Jones CD purchased.

Ripping on the Beatles! That’s just wrong.

Hey Tom: How’s the running going? I’ve got a 5K on the 5th and maybe a half marathon in June. I’m skipping the Labor Day Half this year
Maybe I’ll do another marathon in `09
Hey Scott! Did you know that Nora is Ravi Shankar’s daughter? The guru gets around! Nora is a cutie, no doubt about it! As for Zoloft, I think Nora’s music pretty much fit the bill. The duet she and Dylan did at Amazon’s web-broadcast was painful.

What makes one song ridiculous and another song not?
February 14th, 2008 at 12:35 am
Tom, I’m not entirely sure, but I think to get your answer, you’ll have to consult the songs “My Heart Will Go On”,”Macarena”, “Mambo #5″,”Bad Day” (NOT the one by Fuel) “Mm Bop”and the likes. There’s on other that’s burning my brain, but can’t conjure up the name. Sek within these songs, my son, and ye shall find the answer.

You have listed 4 #1 hits. I’ll bet there were no ridiculous Beatles #1’s.

I suppose we can leave ‘ridiculous’ in the eye of the beholder. I happen to think that, despite each song’s standing on the charts at one time, that those songs were ridiculous. I can see potential in thinking that some of the Beatles songs being ridiculous to some people, but I guess I am too able to identify with the era in which the Beatles made their music to take the opinion that any of it might have been silly. HEEEEEY MACARENA (RAH!)

Well, we can let history decide. We’re 40+ years on, and people are still listening to the Beatles. Will people be listening to Macarena or Mambo #5? Who knows? But you can have my Beatles CD’s when you pry them from my cold, dead fingers
P.S. I can’t five away my source, but I can tell you that Beatles remasters are on the way! Woo hoo! I just hope they upgrade the packaging!

Don’t tell anyone… but I love Mambo #5! Not in the same way I love my kids, though.
I hate both songs, but every single wedding I photograph plays Macarena and Cha Cha Slide at the reception. As sure as they play the Chicken Dance, they’ll be playing those.

That was too funny, Tom. Actually, the Macarena served as a barometer for my first marriage. They played it at our wedding and she was all into it it, so I was sure the marriage was facing impending doom.

Huh… Slightly addled, but on the whole I like this post. You’ve got some fresh ideas. But please, write more lucid.
