Change Of Plans

Today was a rest day, and I surely needed it. My knees and hips hurt like crazy from the last run. Besides, my daytime activities took a lot out of me today, and tomorrow looks to be even worse. Thank goodness for the weekend.

I’m taking my mentor Tom’s advice and skipping my short run on Friday. I can use the extra rest.
Tomorrow night, I’ll carb up, get to bed early, get up early, hydrate, eat a good breakfast and do my 20 miles.

It’s going to be tough.

It’s going to be hard.

I’ll be in a lot of pain.

Can’t wait.  ;)

Oh boy, now I feel the pressure! Hopefully my advice is sound. For a break-through training distance, the extra rest is a good idea. If you come through with no problems, then I’d say just work the next one into your normal routine without the extra day of rest. Psychologically speaking, if Saturday goes well, you’ll build awesome momentum for your upcoming training.
