Buying Bank of America

Friday, June 15th, 2007

So I’m taking my winnings from Cold Water Creek and putting them into Bank of America (BAC). I needed a financial stock to diversify my portfolio, and Bank of America seemed cheaper, both in absolute terms and in P/E than Citigroup (C).

Things started out OK, but now it’s falling a bit. I’m at about where I started. That’s OK. It’s only been a week. Slow and steady growth wins the race!

RIP Ruth Graham

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

The world lost a great woman today. Ruth Graham, wife of famed evangelist Billy Graham passed away today at age 87.

Keeping the Graham family in prayer these days. There’s no doubt that Billy was very much in love with his wife, in the same way that Johnny Cash and June Carter were in love, if that’s an apt comparison.

Earth’s loss is Heaven’s gain.

Still running…

Monday, June 11th, 2007

It’s been tough. The move and other things in life have kept me busy and somewhat discouraged. I went about 4 weeks without running at all. I’m still training on all the days I should. But three weeks ago I decided I had to get back into it if I was going to run the half marathon in September, let alone the full marathon in October.

I’m keeping up with my long runs. This past Saturday I ran 10 miles. Without stopping. Without walking. I certainly haven’t done that in at least 9 months, if I’ve ever done it.

Special thanks to my dorky looking water belt from Dick’s and runners GU. A word of advice: don’t buy the orange flavor ;)

Can’t wait for October!!
