God is in control…
For a variety of reasons, the first week of 2007 has sucked big time. Since my name is on this thing, I can’t get into details. Whenever, I run into a crisis, I’ve always found solace in God, knowing that God doesn’t make junk. I’m not a mistake. I’m a valuable human being. If any of you are going through tough times right now. You should remember the same. God is a lot like gravity. It’s real whether you believe or not. No matter what faith (or lack thereof) you profess, it’s always good to remember that the earth, and the people in it will try to dehumanize you and devalue you. If you’re not careful, they will do exactly that.
I’ve never thought of myself as a Twila Paris fan (does anyone?), but if you can pick up an mp3 of her 1996 song “God Is In Control”, I highly recommend you do. When you’re feeling like life has kicked you in the nuts. Listen to her song. Repeatedly. Listen to it until you get it. God is real. He created the universe. He loves you. He will continue to love you no matter what you do. No matter how hard you try, you will never convince Him not to love you. Might as well learn to embrace it.
